Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s Organisation (KMEWO) is seeking a passionate individual to join our counselling service team. The role’s purpose is to make a positive change in the lives of survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, and other forms of abuse including honour-based abuse, FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) and forced marriage. The counselling service works to address the barriers to counselling some survivors experience and provides a safe, confidential, and affirmative environment for survivors. Successful candidates must work in line with the BACP code of ethics – ensuring the highest level of service and support is provided to survivors. All counsellors must be accredited and members of a recognised professional body (BACP, BPS).

Due to KMEWO’s commitment to the principles of “led by and for” service provision, the candidate’s gender is an occupational requirement in accordance with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9, of the Equality Act 2010.

Please find attached the full job description. If you fulfil the above criteria and you are passionate about women’s rights, please send a CV to sawsan@kmewo.com
