The Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s Organisation (KMEWO) has been tirelessly supporting women across London and the surrounding areas since 1999. Through our specialist services, we offer holistic support for vulnerable Kurdish, Middle Eastern and North African women experiencing domestic abuse and honour-based violence. The VAWG support services cover intersectional advocacy, general advice, 1:1 counselling as well as group’s wellbeing and therapeutic activities.

Our services support women to reach safety and recovery by helping them to start rebuilding their lives. We also work on tackling social isolation, poverty, and digital exclusion by providing upskilling opportunities to women, whilst meeting their essential needs. These “Circles of Services” are designed to help women transform their lives from victims to Thrivers over time.

Women Development and Employment Support Coordinator

(part-time)

Contract: Fixed term contract – 12 months (subject to extension for up to 3 years)

Part time: 21 hours per week (3 days per week)

Salary: £28,000 per annum pro rata

Holidays: 15 days per annum + bank holidays (pro rata)

The successful candidate:

Will have a demonstrable experience in providing advice and guidance to individuals and groups on personal development and progression towards education, volunteering, and employment, preferably at a community setting or at third sector organisations.
Must be fluent in English, and one or more of the following languages: Kurdish, Arabic or Farsi ( Other Middle Eastern and North African languages will also be considered )
