Despite having a robust legal framework for the protection of women\u2019s rights and the ongoing efforts of both statutory and voluntary services working together to end all forms of violence, significant gaps remain. Violence against women and girls persists; sometimes visible, sometimes hidden.<\/p>\nFrom the wealthiest nations to the poorest, women continue to face discrimination, marginalisation and harm.<\/p>\n
Many also come from communities where harmful practices such as forced marriage, female genital mutilation and honour-based abuse strip their fundamental human rights, their independence and dignity leaving them with deep trauma.<\/p>\n
Around the world, including countries where legal changes enable or normalise these practices, women and girls remain especially vulnerable to exploitation and coercion.<\/p>\n
We are is committed to raise our voices for those who are silenced, overlooked or underrepresented. Today and every day is a reminder that our collective work must continue.<\/p>\n
